Project Description
Playtime is an important part of the school day, especially for younger children who need space to move, explore and enjoy a break from the classroom. When that space is planned well, even an indoor area can give children several different ways to play without feeling crowded or repetitive.
That was the idea behind this recent indoor school playground installation in Abha, completed by Ebaza Gardens. The available room was arranged into separate activity zones, allowing children to enjoy swings, a trampoline, spring riders, a ball pool and soft-play activities within one organised space.
Rather than filling the room with one oversized structure, the layout was designed around variety and easy movement. Each activity has its own place, while the padded flooring and protective netting help give the playground a softer, more suitable finish for regular school use.
Scope of Work
The project started with the available indoor area and the type of play activities the school wanted to provide. From there, the layout was arranged so the larger equipment, such as the trampoline and swing set, had their own dedicated zones while the soft-play section remained enclosed and easy to supervise.
The work included:
- Planning the equipment layout around the available floor space
- Installing padded and interlocking play flooring
- Setting up the enclosed soft-play structure with protective netting
- Installing the ball pool and slide section
- Positioning and securing the trampoline
- Installing the two-seat swing frame
- Fixing the spring riders in the play area
- Arranging access points between each activity
- Checking the completed equipment for stability and practical use
In school projects like this, the equipment is only one part of the job. The available space, children’s age group, movement between activities and supervision all affect the final layout. These same points are important when planning any school and nursery playground installation in ksa, whether the play area is indoors or outdoors.
Equipment Installed
The completed playground includes:
- Enclosed soft-play structure
- Children’s ball pool
- Soft-play slide
- Indoor trampoline with protective netting
- Two-seat swing set
- Children’s spring riders
- Animal-themed rocking play equipment
- Padded entrance steps
- Interlocking play flooring
- Protective safety netting around the main play zone
Together, these elements create several activities within one indoor space without depending on oversized equipment.
Benefits of the New Playground
- More variety during playtime: Children can move between swinging, jumping, sliding, rocking and ball-pool activities instead of having only one option.
- Makes practical use of indoor space: The equipment is divided into separate activity zones, helping the school use the room more efficiently.
- Encourages movement: Swings, trampoline activities, slides and spring riders give children different ways to stay physically active.
- Supports group play: The layout allows several children to use different parts of the playground at the same time.
- Dedicated softer play areas: Foam flooring and padded sections create a more suitable surface around the children’s equipment.
- Easier supervision: Protective netting and clearly defined activity areas help keep the playground organised and easier for staff to observe.
- Useful throughout the school day: Because the playground is indoors, it gives the school another option for children’s activity regardless of outdoor conditions.
A More Useful Indoor Space for the School
What makes this Abha project work is not the amount of equipment, but how the different pieces were placed together. The trampoline has its own enclosed section, the swing set remains separate from the main soft-play area, and the spring riders occupy a quieter part of the playground. Inside the netted zone, children have access to slides, a ball pool and other smaller activities. This separation helps the room feel organised while still giving children plenty to do.
Planning a Similar Playground?
Every school, villa, nursery, public park or home garden has a different amount of space available, so the playground should be planned around the site rather than forcing standard equipment into it.
Ebaza Gardens supplies and installs indoor and outdoor playground equipment for schools, nurseries, villas, residential spaces, public parks, home gardens and other children’s areas across Saudi Arabia.
If you are planning a similar project, contact Ebaza Gardens and share your location, available dimensions and the type of playground you have in mind. Our team can help you choose the right equipment, plan the space properly and handle the installation from start to finish, creating a playground that is practical, engaging and suited to everyday use.
