Horse Racecourse Public Park Playground Project in Riyadh

Ebaza Gardens successfully completed the playground installation at the Horse Racecourse in Riyadh, transforming part of the venue into a welcoming outdoor space where families and children can spend time together during races, public events, and community gatherings.

The goal of this project was to create a safe and enjoyable play area that blends naturally with the surrounding landscape while meeting the demands of a busy public venue. Every part of the playground was selected with long-term outdoor use in mind, using durable materials that can withstand Riyadh’s high temperatures, strong sunlight, and frequent public use.

Designed for children of different age groups, the completed playground gives families another reason to spend more time at the racecourse while providing children with a dedicated place to stay active, play, and socialize in a secure environment.

Ebaza Gardens managed the complete playground installation, from planning the layout to the final safety inspection. The objective was to create an organized play area that remains easy to supervise while fitting naturally within the existing public park environment.

Playground Equipment Installed

Multi-Play Tower

The centrepiece of the playground is a multi-play structure designed to keep children engaged through different types of activities in one unit. Elevated platforms, climbing access, interactive panels, and connecting play sections encourage children to explore while developing balance, coordination, and confidence.

Its natural appearance complements the green surroundings of the horse racecourse instead of dominating the landscape.

Slides

The playground includes both an open straight slide and an enclosed tunnel slide, giving children different play experiences within the same structure.

Manufactured from durable UV-resistant LLDPE plastic, the slides are designed for smooth use throughout the year while maintaining their colour and performance under Riyadh’s outdoor conditions.

Swing Set

Classic belt swings were installed to provide a play activity enjoyed by children across different age groups. Built with strong steel frames and heavy-duty components, the swing set area offers a comfortable space for both independent and supervised play.

The swing zone also balances the playground by providing a calmer activity alongside climbing and sliding equipment.

Ground Trampolines

Several ground-mounted trampolines were added to increase physical activity while maintaining a clean and safe playground layout.

Because the trampolines sit close to ground level, they are easier to access and reduce the height difference during play. They encourage jumping, balance, coordination, and active movement while becoming one of the playground’s most popular attractions.

Outdoor Chess & Interactive Play Area

To create an activity that appeals beyond traditional playground equipment, an outdoor chess area was installed with oversized playing pieces.

This feature allows children, parents, and visitors to enjoy quiet recreational activities while encouraging problem-solving, concentration, and social interaction. It also provides an alternative play option for visitors looking for a more relaxed experience.

Artificial Grass Safety Surface

Premium artificial grass was installed throughout the playground to create a clean, comfortable, and attractive surface.

The flooring improves the overall appearance of the park while offering a soft surface for everyday play. It also requires less maintenance than natural grass and performs well in Riyadh’s climate.

Safety Fencing

The entire playground is enclosed with protective fencing to clearly define the play area and improve child safety.

The fencing helps parents supervise children more easily while creating a secure environment during busy weekends, race events, and public gatherings.
